Feature films A SILENCE by Joachim Lafosse and THE DELINQUENTS by Rodrigo Moreno feature in the official selection of the 71st San Sebastian International Film Festival to be held from 22 to 30 September. Created in 1953, recognised by the International Federation of Film Producers' Associations (FIAPF) as a category A festival, the San Sebastian International Film Festival is the most important film festival in Europe.Spain.
A SILENCE concurs in official competition for SHELL and THE DELINQUENTS in the Zabaltegi TabakaleraThis is the Festival's most open competitive section. There are no rules here, no limits on style or time: short, medium and feature films, fiction, non-fiction, animation, series, audiovisual installations, future discoveries and contemporary classics. It's a section that welcomes films that strive to find new points of view and formats, a truly open and risky zone.
A SILENCE is Joachim Lafosse's tenth feature film and the third co-produced by SAMSA FILM (Jani Thiltges) after "Les Intranquilles (official selection Cannes 2021) and "A perdre la raison ("Un Certain Regard", Best Actress Award, Cannes 2012), all 3 supported by Film Fund Luxembourg.
A SILENCE is a co-production between Luxembourg, Belgium and France! The film stars Daniel Auteuil and Emmanuelle Devos, surrounded by Matthieu Galoux, Salomé Dewaels and Jeanne Cherhal. Luxembourg actors Larisa Faber, Colette Kieffer and Elsa Rauchsalso feature in the cast.
The technical team includes several Luxembourg technicians, including (a.o.) : Brigitte Kerger-Santos (Executive Producer), Alain Goniva (Sound Engineer), Elly Verduycket (Script Editor), François Dumont (Sound Editor), VITALIJUS Vitalijus Kiselius (Chief Electrician), Jill Kibbey (Set Designer), Barbara Pratti (Propmaster), Christophe Vincent (Stage Manager), Paul Maas (Assistant Editor) and Gil Galvao (VFX Supervisor).
In addition, the sound post-production was carried out by the studios PHILOPHON (Bettembourg) and calibration by IMAGING (Differdange).
The film is scheduled for release in Luxembourg in early 2024.
THE DELINQUENTES (LOS DELINCUENTES) by Argentinian filmmaker Rodrigo Moreno is a Les Films Fauves (Gilles Chanial) co-production with Argentina, Chile and Brazil, supported by the Selective Financial Assistance programme. CINEWORLD of the Film Fund Luxembourg.
