5 awards for Luxembourg at the Austrian Film Prize
By winning 5 prizes in Vienna at the Austrian Film Awards ceremony, 2 Austrian-Luxembourg co-productions have won international recognition from the film industry.
Murer - Anatomie eines Prozesses by Austrian Christian Frosch (co-production Paul Thiltges Distributions - Paul Thiltges & Adrien Chef) is honoured with the Prize for best feature film and Best Supporting Actress (Inge Maux). The film competed in 8 categories.
Angelo by Austrian director Markus Schleinzer (co-production Amour Fou Luxembourg - Bady Minck & Alexander Dumreicher-Ivanceanu) won Best Costume Design, Best Make-up and Best Set Design. The film competed in 7 categories.
Many Luxembourg professionals took part in these 2 films. For example, in the film Angelo actress Larisa Faber and the contribution of Pia Dumont as picture and sound editor. For the film MurerAmong the many Luxembourg technicians was Fredo Roeser, who was responsible for the make-up, a category in which he was also nominated.
The Austrian production company Amour Fou Vienne, headed by Bady Minck from Luxembourg, also performed very well, winning 3 prizes (Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Editing) for the film Styx by Wolfgang Fischer.
It's also worth remembering that the winners of the German Television Prize (Deutscher Fernsehpreis) are eagerly awaited this Thursday 31 January 2019. In addition to the 6 nominations garnered by the series Bad Banks by Christian Schwochow (co-production Iris Productions) in the categories of Best Drama Series, Best Actress (Paula Beer and Luxembourg's Désirée Nosbusch), Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Cinematography. Luxembourg actress Vicky Krieps is also in the running for the Best Actress prize for her role in the German series Das Boot.
