In his capacity as Minister for Communications and the Media, Xavier Bettel attended the 74e Venice Film Festival. Accompanied by Guy Daleiden, the minister travelled to the island of Lazzaretto Vecchio to visit the facilities of the VR Theater which is hosting the first official competition for virtual reality films at the Mostra. Xavier Bettel was received by Michel Reilhac and Liz Rosenthal, in charge of programming. VR of the Festival.

Also on the agenda will be the screening of films and the discovery of the new technologies being developed for audiovisual production and communication, which are increasingly popular with professionals and the general public in Luxembourg. "Faced with the growing interest and potential that this technological revolution has in store for us, and which will revolutionise our daily lives, Luxembourg, which is profoundly open to new cutting-edge technologies, must play a key role in promoting this new content," emphasised the Minister.

Xavier Bettel and his delegation were also welcomed by the directors of the Venice Film Festival before attending the screening of the Italian film "The Leisure Seeker" by Paolo Virzi (starring Helen Mirren and Donald Sutherland), co-produced by David Grumbach of the Luxembourg company Bac Cinéma.
