The 76th edition of the Venice International Film Festival - the famous Venice Mostra - announced its prize list and awarded its prizes on Saturday evening. Lions and its Special Prizes.

And a Luxembourg co-production stood out in the 2019 rankings: THE SCARECROWS by Nouri Bouzid (a co-production Samsa Film with Tunisia and Morocco) was awarded the Special Human Rights Prize (HRN Prize).

"The film is a harsh analysis of the "revolution for democracy and freedom" during the time of the Ennahdha government. Nouri Bouzid, with unscrupulous sensitivity, carries out a fascinating operation of 'plastic surgery' on the collective unconscious of a nation that had the strength to oppose fanatical violence and the rules and laws of a modern constitutional state".

Pm: the film was part of the official selection in the "Sconfini" section and was supported by the Film Fund Luxembourg. Cineworld.
