Luxembourg wins another award at the Venice Film Festival: "A Long Goodbye" wins the Venice Immersive Achievement Prize!
A Long Goodbyean innovative immersive virtual reality work by Kate Voet and Victor Maes, co-produced by Tarantula Luxembourg (Donato Rotunno), Belgium and the Netherlands, with 2D/3D animation by Luxembourg studio Velvet Flare., has just been awarded the Venice Immersive Achievement Prizeone of the three major prizes awarded in the Venice Immersive to the 82ᵉ Venice Mostra.
This prize rewards A Long Goodbye for its creativity and the quality of its production, as well as its innovative use of immersive technologies.
"Another great reward for our audiovisual and cinematographic sector: working with Luxembourg can be very beneficial," enthused Culture Minister Eric Thill.
"This achievement confirms that the Film Fund Luxembourg's commitment to new digital forms is bearing fruit. The work aptly illustrates the narrative and emotional potential of the immersive experience," adds Guy Daleiden, its director.
This success is part of a dynamic of growing international recognition for Luxembourg's immersive works. Last year, Luxembourg won two of the three major prizes in the same category, confirming its place on the international immersive scene.
It should also be noted that the Golden Lion was awarded to the film Father Mother Sister Brother by Jim Jarmusch, in which Luxembourg actress Vicky Krieps plays a key role, putting her in the Venetian spotlight!
