On the initiative of Film Fund Luxembourg and the Swiss Federal Office of Culture, a delegation of Swiss producers visited Luxembourg on 26 and 27 March 2018.

The aim of the visit was to exchange views on developments in the respective audiovisual sectors, to find out about co-production support mechanisms and the respective ways in which projects are supported, and to strengthen and renew links between Luxembourg and Swiss producers.

The Swiss delegation visited the Filmland studios in Kehlen and the 1535° Creative Hub in Differdange to meet production companies, animation and post-production studios. The Swiss producers also took the opportunity to discover some of the Grand Duchy's characteristic locations, which could prove to be interesting backstage locations for future projects. A bilateral working meeting was also held in Kehlen to develop new co-productions between the two countries in the future.

Since 1993, there have been more than twenty co-productions between Switzerland and Luxembourg. The co-production agreement signed between the two countries in 2011 has also encouraged the creation of new works.

Guy Daleiden, Director of the Lëtzebuerger Filmfong: "Given the size of its market, the Luxembourg audiovisual sector depends on international co-productions. The discussions we've had with our Swiss friends over the last 2 days underline our desire to further develop this close collaboration, which has existed for several years".

Laurent Steiert, Deputy Head of the Federal Office of Culture, Film Section: "This meeting between our two countries reveals a strong similarity between our support systems and the desire to develop new co-productions. Switzerland and Luxembourg are obviously keen to build on this relationship in the future.
