Farewell to Steve Schmit, a pillar of the Luxembourg media landscape

It was with great emotion that we learned of the death of Steve Schmit, a key figure in the Luxembourg media landscape and a pillar of the RTL Lëtzebuerg. His unwavering commitment and unique vision have made him a key player in the development of the audiovisual sector, actively contributing to the production and distribution of Luxembourgish works.

Over the years, we have had the privilege of working alongside him on successful series such as Weemseesdet, ComeBack, Zëmmer ze verlounen, routwäissgro, Capitani as well as youth programmes such as Kannativiwhich have enriched and continue to enrich the Luxembourg television landscape.

His involvement in the development of new series, particularly through the partnerships between RTL Lëtzebuerg and the Film Fund Luxembourg, has enabled many local talents to make their mark on the national and international scene. Thanks to him, a new detective series, Marginalwill soon be launched on RTL, continuing its work to support the emergence of innovative, high-quality projects.

Steve was not just a partner, but a true mentor to those who had the chance to work with him. We are honoured to have shared these moments of creativity and passion with him. He will continue to be a source of inspiration and his legacy will live on in the many audiovisual works he helped to create.
