Irish premiere for "Song of the sea

As part of the 27e Galway Film Festival in Ireland, held from 7 to 12 July 2015, that the Luxembourg co-production "Song of the sea" by Melusine Productions (Stéphan Roelants) directed by Irishman Tomm Moore has been welcomed by a standing ovation from an enthusiastic audience.

Guy Daleiden, Director of the National Support Fund for Audiovisual Production, who was in Galway to promote and intensify relations between the two countries, said: "It is important to remember that Luxembourg and Ireland signed a co-production agreement in 2011 and that, since then, 7 fiction or animation films have been co-produced ("The Runway", "Love Eternal", "Standby", "Robin Hood", "Two by Two - Ooops... The ark has gone" , "Song of the Sea", "Mammal") and 2 films are in preparation: a fiction with "The poisoners" and an animation with "The Breadwinner". These figures testify to the success of this commitment and the dynamism that emanates from the profession in both our countries".

Guy Daleiden contributes to speed dating bringing together film professionals and film institutions. As a member of the pitching sessions jury, he also takes part in screenplay presentation sessions.

Song of the Sea, nominated for the 2015 Oscars in the Best Animated Feature category, was also premiered in Luxembourg ("D'Melodie vun Mier") and French ("Le chant de la mer") at the Luxembourg City Film Festival in March.
