Holland Film Meeting in Utrecht
Luxembourg delegation visits Utrecht
At the invitation of the Nederlands Filmfonds, representatives of the Lëtzebuerger FilmFong and a delegation of national producers including Lucil Film, Deal Productions, Iris Productions, a _bahn, Doghouse Films, Les Films Fauves, Amour Fou, Paul Thiltges Distributions and Tarantula Luxembourg attended the Holland Film Meeting in Utrecht from 25 to 27 September.
The aim of the visit was to discuss developments in the respective audiovisual sectors, find out about new co-production support mechanisms and strengthen ties between Dutch and Luxembourg producers. Some twenty co-productions were made between the Netherlands and Luxembourg between 2002 and 2014, including "Twin Sisters" by Ben Sombogaart, nominated for an Oscar in 2004, and "Secrets of War" directed by Dennis Bots, produced by Rinkel Film and Bijker Film & TV (NL) in co-production with Tarantula Luxembourg, which will be released in cinemas in the Grand Duchy in early 2015. Co-producers Donato Rotunno and Reinier Selen also presented a study on the financing of their project. Guy Daleiden, Director of the Film Fund Luxembourg, and Doreen Boonekamp, Director of the Netherlands Film Fund, also spoke about the new ways in which they operate to support projects.
One-to-one meetings between producers in the form of speed dating and a visit to the former headquarters of broadcaster Radio Kootwijk, transformed into a historic site and production studio, completed the programme of this enriching and fruitful visit for all parties.
