21/01/2016 - 29/01/2016
A Luxembourg delegation made up of producers (Samsa Film, Amour Fou, a_Bahn and Paul Thiltges Distributions) and representatives of the Lëtzebuerger Film Fong travelled to the Trieste Film Festival on 24 and 25 January for professional meetings with Italian producers. These Italian-Luxembourg meetings had been organised by the Direction Générale du Cinéma of the Italian Ministry of Culture following the bilateral events held at the Villerupt festival last year.
The aim of these discussions was to find out about the various mechanisms for supporting co-production and recent developments in the respective audiovisual sectors.
Luxembourg has had links with Italy since 1996, with the production of Enzo d'Alò's first feature film "La Freccia Azzurra". D'Alò has since created the series "Pipi, Pupù et Rosemary" in Luxembourg, as well as "Pinocchiò" in 2013. His next feature film project is currently being developed from Luxembourg.
Guy Daleiden, Director of the Fund, said: "We would like to extend the good relations that exist in animation to the fiction, documentary and new media sectors. Contacts have been made. Now we need to turn our good intentions into real projects, and that's the aim of our exchanges".
Luxembourg director Pol Cruchten was also in the spotlight at the Trieste International Film Festival, where the world premiere of his recent documentary "Voices from Chernobyl"(La supplication).
The Luxembourg delegation also took part in the "When East meets West" co-production platform, with its pitching sessions, case studies, round tables and professional exchanges, organised as part of the festival.
