Ernest & Celestine wins best animated feature film at the LAFCA's annual award - the Los Angeles Film Critics Association!
The film is coproduced by Stephan Roelants (Melusine Productions and Studio 352)!

"Ernest&Célestine", the animated film by Vincent Patar, Stéphane Aubier and Benjamin Renner, co-produced by Melusine Productions and Studio 352, has just won the prestigious "Best Animated Film Award" from the Los Angeles Film Critics Assocation (LAFCA) at its annual ceremony on 8 December 2013.
LAFCA is one of the largest associations of film critics in the United States, and this award, won by "The Wind Rises" by the famous Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki, is particularly important in the run-up to the Oscars.
Ernest & Célestine" is one of 19 animated films pre-selected in the race for the Oscar for Best Animated Film.
These include new films from Japan's Hayao Miyazaki ("The Wind is Rising" and Hiroyuki Okiura ("Letter to Momo") and Korea's Yeun Sang-Ho ("The Fake"), the French film "Moi, moche et méchant 2" and the American feature films "Les Croods", "Les Schroumpfs 2", "Monstre Academy" and others.
The LAFCA award also means very good reviews for the film's release in the United States. Distributed by Gkids, a distributor specialising in animated films, the American version of the film features the voices of Forest Whitaker (Ernest) and the young Mackenzie Foy (Twilight: Revelations), who lends her voice to Célestine. The cast also includes Paul Giamatti and Lauren Bacall.

"Ernest & Celestine" has also been shortlisted for the Golden Globes in the Best Animated Film category.

Unveiled at the "Quinzaine des Réalisateurs" at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012, "Ernest & Célestine" is a co-production between Belgium (La Parti Production), France (Les Armateurs) and Luxembourg (Mélusine Productions and Studio 352) supported by the Fonds national de soutien à la production audiovisuelle and with the participation of a large number of local animators.
