Launch of the Benelux Co-Development Exchange
On 5 February 2026, the Film Fund Luxembourg launched the Ostend Film Festival, the joint Benelux co-development grant for feature-length fiction and animation films, in collaboration with the Flemish Audiovisual Fund, the Dutch Film Fund and the Centre du Cinéma et de l'Audiovisuel de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.
Through this pilot initiative, the three countries aim to foster sustainable collaboration among creative teams in the development and production of feature films across the Benelux region. The project also seeks to encourage the exploration of collaborative creative models, supporting the emergence of strong, high-quality film projects within the region.
During the two-year pilot phase, the Flemish Audiovisual Fund will oversee the implementation of the scheme and the processing of applications. Meanwhile, the Benelux partner funds will assess how their regulations and procedures can be simplified and better aligned to further strengthen cross-border collaboration throughout this period.
In concrete terms, each year, three grants of 50 000 € per project will be awarded following a single application deadline. The grant is exclusively reserved for projects that have previously received development aid from a partner fund.
The deadline for submissions is 1st April 2026 at 17:00 (CET).
