Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis 2016: nominations announced
D'Filmakademie last night officially unveiled the list of nominations for the next Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis to be held on Saturday 5 March 2016 at the Grand Théâtre de la ville de Luxembourg.
The director of the Film Fund Luxembourg, Guy Daleiden, and Claude Waringo, president of the Luxembourg Film Academy (d'Filmakademie) officially launched the 7th edition of the "Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis".
9 short fiction films, 16 co-productions, 4 Luxembourg feature films, 9 documentaries, 3 feature films and 3 animated shorts will be in the running to win a trophy. In all, the Academy has selected 30 nominees, including 14 for Best Artistic Contribution and 16 for Best Technical Contribution.
As in the last edition, the awards will be voted for online by the film industry professionals who are members of the acaémie.
New this year, Academy members will be able to view the films in the running via an online platform. www.vodfilmprais.lu. An access code will be sent to them to enable them to access the films in competition.
All professionals in the sector can join the academy as associate members and vote for the winner. Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis 2016.
As a reminder, the Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis is a joint initiative of the public authorities and organisations representing professionals in the Luxembourg film industry. The aim of the prize is to reward the best contributions to Luxembourg cinema in order to highlight quality works, encourage film creation, promote the development of the film industry in Luxembourg and draw the public's attention to Luxembourg productions.
