Luxembourg, 12 October 2023 - The Filmakademie and the Film Fund are today honoured and delighted to announce the nominees for the 2023 edition of the Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis. The nominations represent a cross-section of all the talent that has contributed to the enrichment of our film industry.

For this 10e The nominations cover 40 productions in 12 award categories. The 400 members of the Filmakademie are invited to vote for 11 of these to determine the winners.

The category of Best XR work is submitted to the vote of a specialist jury made up of Françoise Poos, scientific and artistic director of the Art Technology Science & Society Programme of the frEsch asbl, Toby Coffey, head of digital development at the National Theatre in London and Ana Brzezinska, Festival curator. Tribeca Immersive.

The category of Best original music comprises six nominees, two of whom tied for fifth place in the first round. The second round will begin on 13 October and end on 4 November 2023.

A special prize will also be awarded by the Luxembourg Film Press Association (ALPC).

The awards ceremony, to be held on 11 November 2023 at Luxembourg City's Grand Théâtre, is an evening dedicated to the talents of Luxembourg cinema. This year it will be directed by Anne Simon and Jeff Schincker, and co-presented by actors Magaly Teixeira and Max Thommes.

About the Lëtzbuerger Filmpräis:

Since 2012, the Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis has been organised jointly by the Filmakademie and the Film Fund Luxembourg.

It's an exceptional showcase for Luxembourg's cinematic talent, featuring works that have captivated audiences and critics alike over the last two years.

The aim of the Filmpräis is to reward the best contributions to Luxembourg cinema, in order to highlight quality works, encourage cinematographic creation, promote the development of the film industry in Luxembourg and draw the public's attention to Luxembourg productions.
