To mark the 70th anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival, Xavier Bettel, Prime Minister, Minister for Culture and Minister for Communications and the Media, and Their Royal Highnesses the Hereditary Grand Duke and Hereditary Grand Duchess of Luxembourg will be travelling to Cannes to attend the opening night of the Festival and to meet Luxembourg film professionals on site.

To show their support for the audiovisual production sector, the Prime Minister and the Crown Couple will be visiting the world's largest film market. They will take part in the traditional Luxembourg Day on 18 May, during which they will learn about the work of Luxembourg players.

The Fonds national de soutien à la production audiovisuelle will be setting up its headquarters for the 15th consecutive year at the Village international from 17 to 26 May 2017. It will host 21 companies under this umbrella, including production companies and companies specialising in post-production, sound and new technologies. This year, around a hundred audiovisual representatives are accredited to the film market under the Luxembourg flag.
