Le Bolzano Film Festival (Bozen), which takes place from 5 to 9 April 2017 and whose special feature is the programming of German- and Italian-language auteur films from Austria, Switzerland, Germany and Italy, offers a range of unconventional contemporary European co-productions. This year, the latest "Focus Europa" section is devoted to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and the organisers have chosen to screen 8 films (5 features and 3 shorts): Rusty Boys by Andy Bausch (Paul Thiltges Distributions) to open the festival, Eng nei Zäit by Christophe Wagner (Samsa Film), Foreign Affairs by Pasha Rafiy (Les Films Fauves), Song of the Sea by Tomm Moore (Melusine Productions), Die Nacht der 1000 Stunden by Virgil Widrich (Amour Fou Luxembourg) - the latter having been partly filmed in the South Tyrol region -, Mr Hublot by Laurent Witz and Alexandre Espigares (Zeilt productions), Imperfect tense by David Grumbach (Paul Thiltges Distributions) and Quenottes by Pascal Thiebaux and Gil Pinheiro (Zeilt productions). A Luxembourg delegation made up of Filmfong representatives and professionals from the audiovisual sector (Paul Thiltges, Andy Bausch, Frank Feitler, Valérie Bodson and Pasha Rafiy) travelled to Bolzano to take part in the round tables organised by the Festival and to create new synergies between the Alto Adige region and Luxembourg in terms of co-production, in particular by meeting the managers of the local fund.
