Luxembourg represented at the ANNIE AWARDS with Ernest & Célestine: a trip to Charabia

The Annie Awards, considered to be the Oscars of the animation world, has just announced its 2024 nominations! The animated feature Ernest & Célestine: the trip to Charabia co-produced by Stéphan Roelants (Mélusine Productions), directed by Julien Chheng and Jean-Christophe Roger, was nominated in the "Best Feature-Independent" category from among 5 productions.

Ernest & Célestine: Journey to Charabie is a co-production between France and Luxembourg. 42 people were mobilised on the film at Studio 352 in Contern to work on the storyboard and animatics, the line sets, the colour sets and the colour animation, the process for which was set up by the studio in Luxembourg to recreate the rendering of the first version of Ernest & Célestine, released in 2012.

The Luxembourg version of the film was produced by the Jang Linster studios and released in Luxembourg cinemas in early 2023.

The winners of the Annie Awards will be announced at the 51st Annie Awards.^e ceremony to be held on Saturday 17 February 2024 in Los Angeles, which will reward animated films released in the United States in 2023. Find all the nominations under : Annie Awards - Nominations
