6 Luxembourg co-productions in the official selection, including 2 with Vicky Krieps in the lead role: exceptional recognition for our national cinema!

Following last week's announcement of the official selection of the film Bodice (Samsa Film)the Cannes Festival has unveiled 5 new selections for Luxembourg: More than ever (Samsa Film) and Harka (Tarantula Luxembourg) in the official "Un certain regard" selection, Le petit Nicolas - What are we waiting for to be happy? in the Official Selection "Special Screening", Rebel in the Official Selection "Midnight Screening" and Pamfir (Wady Films) in the official "Directors' Fortnight" selection.

More than ever (Plus que jamais) co-produced by Jani Thiltges (Samsa Film) and directed by Emily Atef.
The film is a co-production between France, Luxembourg, Germany and Norway. Luxembourg actress Vicky Krieps plays the lead role alongside young French actor Gaspard Ulliel, who died last January.

The Luxembourg teams include actresses Sophie Langevin and Valérie Bodson; the technical team at Filmand studios à Kehlen is made up of Catherine Dauphin (script supervisor), Capucine Courau (sound editor), Brigitte Kerger-Santos (executive producer), Kevin Dresse (chief electrician), Jean François Roqueplo (chief stagehand), Jill Kibbey (set designer), Barbara Prati (props supervisor) and Ambroise Gayet (Luxembourg location manager).

Harka co-produced by Donato Rotunno (Tarantula Luxembourg) and directed by Lotfy Nathan.
The film is a co-production between France, Tunisia, Luxembourg and Belgium, with sound post-production carried out entirely at Studios Philophon in Bettembourg.

Le petit Nicolas - What are we waiting for to be happy? co-produced by Lilian Eche and Christel Henon (Bidibul Productions), directed by Amandine Fredon and Benjamin Massoubre, based on the work of René Goscinny and Jean-Jacques Sempé.

This animated film is a co-production between France and Luxembourg, and the first animated feature film based on the adventures of Petit Nicolas, in which Jean-Jacques Sempé's line comes to life for the very first time thanks to the magic of 2D hand-drawn animation. The layout and colour sets were created by Studio 352 by Contern, compositing and special effects by the Onyx Lux 3D studio of Luxembourg. Visit Philophon studios from Bettembourg did the sound editing, sound effects and mixing, while the film's music was recorded at the Philharmonie de Luxembourg.

Rebel co-produced by Jesus Gonzalez (Calach Films) and directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah
The film is a co-production between Belgium, France and Luxembourg, and stars Luxembourg actors Tommy Schlesser and Nassim Rachi. The technical team includes Uli Simon (costume supervisor), Véronique Dubray (make-up supervisor), Lucia Valverde (script supervisor), Jean-François Roqueplo and Pascal Charlier (chief grips), Theo Theodorides (1st assistant B camera), Nicolas Leroy and Angelo Dos Santos (sound editors) and Loïc Collignon (mixer).

The film is a co-production between Ukraine, France, Poland, Chile, Germany and Luxembourg.

Tribeca Film Festival

In addition, the Festival du Film de Tribeca (to be held in New York from 8 to 19 June 2022) has just announced its first selections, which include the animated feature film  My love affair with marriage directed by Signe Baumane and co-produced by Raoul Nadalet (Antevita Films). This co-production between Latvia, the United States and Luxembourg will compete in the "International Narrative Competition" section.
