Luxembourg well represented at Cartoon Movie 2022

CARTOON MOVIE, the co-production and pitching forum for feature-length animated films, has announced the finalists for the Cartoon Tributes 2022 awards, which recognise the work of European animation professionals. The professionals themselves will choose the director, distributor and producer of the year at Cartoon Movie, from 8 to 10 March.

Luxembourg will be particularly well represented this year with 3 nominations for the European Producer of the Year :

• Mélusine Productions, co-producer of the feature film "LE SOMMET DES DIEUX" with its partners Julianne Films (FR) and Folivari (FR).
• Samsa Film and Doghouse Films, co-producers of the feature film "WHERE IS ANNE FRANK" with its partners Purple Whale Films (BE), Walking the Dog (BE), Bridgit Folman Gang (Il), Submarine (NL), Le Pacte (FR) and Ian FILMS (BE).

In its 2022 selection, Cartoon Movie has chosen the feature film project ELLIE AND THE CHRISTMAS CREEP directed by Caroline Origer from Luxembourg and co-produced by the Fabrique d'Images, which will be presented during the pitching sessions >. https://www.cartoon-media.eu/movie/discover-the-projects/ellie-and-the-christmas-creep

Cartoon Movie was set up in 1999 with the aim of encouraging the development of cross-border co-productions and cooperation, speeding up the financing and production process for films and facilitating their distribution at European and international level. Since its inception, Cartoon Movie has provided funding for more than 301 films, worth a total of €2 billion. Cartoon Movie is organised by CARTOON with the support of Creative Europe - MEDIA, the CNC (Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée), the Région Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Bordeaux Métropole, the Mairie de Bordeaux and the Pôle Image Magelis.
 
CARTOON is an international non-profit association based in Brussels. It organises Cartoon Movie, Cartoon Forum, a co-production forum dedicated to TV animation series, Cartoon Master training seminars and Cartoon Connection, a programme dedicated to exploring new ways of strengthening cooperation between professionals in the European Union and beyond.
