In line with what Xavier Bettel, Prime Minister, Minister for Culture and Minister for Communications and Media, announced last May at the Cannes Film Festival, a new support mechanism for funding music videos was launched on Thursday 14 September 2017 by Guy Daleiden, Director of the Fonds national de soutien à la production audiovisuelle, Olivier Toth, Managing Director of Rockhal and Patrice Hourbette, Director of Music:LX.

This support will enable the production of ambitious music videos requiring elaborate audiovisual content or a large-scale audiovisual production team and equipment.

The aid is provided by the Film Fund Luxembourg in collaboration with the Rockhal and Music:LX.

This support, limited to €10,000 per project, will help to boost the distribution potential and visibility of both national music performers and professionals from the audiovisual sector.

This support is fully in line with the Fund's desire to forge links with other creative industries and cultural institutions and to pursue a cross-disciplinary cultural policy.

The first winner will be announced at the festival Sonic Visions on 18 November.

Against this backdrop of closer ties with the music world, Guy Daleiden also announced that the Rencontres de Coproduction Francophones will be held in Luxembourg in 2019 during the Sonic Visionsthe main theme of which will be "the role of music in cinema".
