The immersive work Oto's Planet wins the Reflet d'Or for best immersive work at the Geneva International Film Festival
Oto's Planet, a virtual reality work directed by Gwenael François and produced by Julien Becker (Skill Lab Creative Studio), was awarded the prestigious Reflet d'Or for best immersive work at the closing ceremony of the Geneva International Film Festival (GIFF).
" Oto's Planet is the fruit of several years' exploration and passion for virtual reality, and this award is tremendous recognition of our work," said the film's director. "Receiving the Reflet d'Or at GIFF is an honour that testifies to the relevance and power of immersive media as a means of artistic expression.
Supported by the Film Fund Luxembourg, Oto's Planet is a Luxembourg co-production with Quebec and France. Since its creation, it has played at some of the world's biggest festivals, winning the Prix Spécial du Jury at the Venice Mostra this year and, most recently, the Grand Prix at the Beyond The Frame Festival in Tokyo.
" Oto's Planet is proof of the excellence of Luxembourg's immersive filmmaking. This project embodies our ambition to support works that dare to push back the boundaries of what is possible," commented Guy Daleiden, Director of Film Fund Luxembourg. "This prize testifies to the strength of our national production on the international scene and to the quality of the collaborations that enable such projects to come to fruition.
