The closing ceremony of the 13th edition of the Paris Courts Devant Festival which took place on 21 November, Guy Daleiden, director of the Film Fund Luxembourg, announced the winner of the " Virtelio Prize 2017 ", international virtual reality film writing competition, in the presence of the jury and partners. This initiative, launched by the Film Fund in collaboration with the Luxembourg start-up realabThe announcement was made by Xavier Bettel, Prime Minister, Minister for Culture and Minister for Communications and Media, at the Cannes Festival in May.

The prize was awarded to the short film project " Sex Buyers "by French writer-director Sonia Delhaye, an interactive, sensory documentary that criticises prostitution and the sex trade by examining the act of buying through an immersive mise-en-scène. The short film, produced by the Paris-based company Day for Night Productionswill use interactivity technology Virtelio developed by realab and will be distributed via the network of cinemas mk2 VR.

The " Virtelio Prize " has been allocated €150,000 by the Film Fund, all of which will be invested in a co-production with a Luxembourg company.
