Guy Daleiden, Director of the Fonds national de soutien à la production audiovisuelle, has presented his review for 2014.

In terms of figures, 59 projects received selective financial support totalling €39,679,352.00. 22 projects received writing and/or development aid (€ 1,140,190.00) and 37 projects received production aid (€ 38,539,162.00).

The Fund also granted €136,527.00 in promotional aid and €107,303.80 in various subsidies to the sector.

As part of its promotional mission, the Fund has been present at various international markets and forums and has taken part in economic prospecting missions. In order to support the distribution of our audiovisual heritage abroad, Luxembourg embassies organised, with the cooperation of the Fund, numerous screenings of films made in Luxembourg.

The Fund has supported various European initiatives such as EAVE (a training programme for producers established in Luxembourg in 2005) and Eurimages (a pan-European fund set up by the Council of Europe).

Internationally, the Fund is proud of the first-ever Luxembourg Oscar won by Zeilt productions (Laurent Witz and Alexandre Espigares) for the best animated short film "Mr Hublot", as well as the numerous films selected or awarded at international festivals. According to Guy Daleiden, "This shows the Grand Duchy's expertise in this field and the important place that Luxembourg occupies on the international scene".

The 6e he Luxembourg Film Prize "Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis" has lived up to its promise, with the winners reflecting the votes of the members of the "Filmakademie". The 7e edition will be held on Saturday 5 March 2016 at the Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg alongside the Luxembourg City Film Festival, which is supported by the Fund.

The documentary series "routwäissgro" by "Kollektiv 13", broadcast on RTL since March 2015, won the call for projects launched by RTL and the Fund.

Guy Daleiden announced the Fund's next steps, in particular the holding of a new conference on Luxembourg cinema as part of the 25th Luxembourg Film Festival.e anniversary of the Fund. During the Luxembourg Presidency of the European Union, the Fund will also support an EP2C workshop on post-production and a Digital Cartoon workshop, and will host the annual EFARN meeting representing 45 film agencies and other organisations active in the film industry.
