Residence Animation³
After welcoming 3 authors in 2023, Magelisthe Department of Charente, Wallimage SA and the Film Fund Luxembourg are renewing their cooperation in 2024 to offer an international French-speaking residency in writing for film and television animation.
The intention is to cooperate to support cross-border scriptwriting projects for feature films or animated series. This cooperation will take the form of a 3-week residency in October 2024, with one week in each of the signatory territories of the protocol for each writer selected.
Projects must be written in French, intended for film or television, and be animated. To be eligible, they must have the potential to interest audiences in the 3 countries. They must be proposed as a priority to producers from the 3 signatory countries. They must be at the
and not in a rewriting phase. Applications must include a synopsis of at least 3 pages, a CV of the author and a description of the planned genre (feature film, series, 2D or 3D animation, etc.) and target audience.
The schedule for this second year is as follows:
- June 2024: Launch of the call for projects
- 31 July 2024: deadline for applications
- 31 August 2024 (at the latest): announcement of the winners
- 30 September 2024: Start of residencies
In 2023, the residence welcomed Milena Rodams, an author from Charente, for a 2D TV series adapted from Nekomaki's work, The old man and his cat Bruno Lorenzi, Walloon author, for an original work for young adults in a 2D TV series, Cander and Ladilash ; Fred Neuena Luxembourg author, for a 3D feature film project, Croque-cadeau.
