The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and the Film Fund Luxembourg (FFL) have announced the reopening of the Canada-Luxembourg Incentive for the Co-development and Co-production of Audiovisual Projects.

To be eligible, projects must come from producers who meet each organization's criteria. Projects supported at the development stage will be drama or animation series, animated feature films and digital media projects. The Incentive will also fund digital media projects (including virtual or augmented reality, transmedia projects and enabling technologies) at the production stage.

The combined annual budget for the Incentive Measure will be 900,000 $CA (approximately €600,000), with each party contributing half, for a total investment of 1,800,000 $CA (approximately €1,200,000) over the two years of the Incentive Measure.

The maximum total combined contribution will be 100,000 $CA (approximately €65,000) for each of the television or digital media projects financed in development and 500,000 $CA (approximately €320,000) for each of the digital media projects financed in production. The contribution allocated by each funding body to each project will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

The projects will be evaluated and chosen following a selection process by a committee made up of representatives from the CMF and the FFL on the basis of various criteria, including the cultural value of the project and the target audience, the teams' track record and the viability of the project.

The two funding bodies have awarded nearly 1,500,000 $CA to six co-development and co-production projects in the first two years of the programme.
