The Film Fund Luxembourg has marked this 2025 edition of the Cannes Festival with a strong and multidimensional presence, supported by the visibility of its works in the official selection, the hosting of an active pavilion at the Marché du Film and strategic participation in the immersive programme.

A dynamic Luxembourg pavilion at the heart of the Film Market

Located in the International Village, the Luxembourg Pavilion was the place to be throughout the festival for professionals keen to discover the talent and opportunities in the Luxembourg audiovisual sector. It hosted :

Spotlight on Luxembourg's XR at Cannes Immersive

A special exhibition of five immersive works from Luxembourg was presented at Cannes Immersive. This Focus Luxembourg showcased works This is my heart (Nicolas Blies and Stéphane Hueber-Blies - a_BAHN), Battlefield (François Vautier - Digital Voodooh), Floating with Spirits (Juanita Onzaga - Tarantula Luxembourg), Ito Meikyu (Boris Labbé - Les Films Fauves) and Oto's Planet (Gwenael François - Skill Lab). In addition, there will be specific panels devoted to the production of Luxembourg audiovisual works, bringing together producers, directors and European partners around the development of localised immersive experiences, a field in which Luxembourg is distinguishing itself through its growing expertise.

In addition, a presentation of the case study The Dollhouse provided a concrete illustration of the production process, artistic choices and international collaborations.

Launch of a co-development initiative with Dutch and Belgian partners (Benelux)

To mark the Benelux Meetingthe Film Fund Luxembourg, in collaboration with the Netherlands Film Fundthe Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF) and the Film Centre of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (CCA)announced joint co-development grant to be launched soon for fiction and animation projects.

This incentive aims to strengthening regional cooperation and supporting the first stages of projects led by partners from the three countries. Precise details, including eligibility requirements and available funding, will be announced at the next co-production meeting, which will take place in conjunction with the Ostend Festival in early 2026.

Launch of an international writing residency between the Film Fund Luxembourg and Ciclic Centre-Val-de-Loire (France)

Guy Daleiden, director of the Film Fund Luxembourg, and Julie Gayet, president of the Ciclic Centre-Val de Loire regional fund, have announced the launch of a new joint residency programme designed to support the development of feature-length fiction or animation films by writer/director/producer teams from the two partners' territories. The residency will host six projects, selected for their artistic ambition and co-production potential, and will take place over two sessions organised successively in Centre-Val de Loire and Luxembourg. Participants will benefit from intensive support from experienced producers and experts in scriptwriting, financing, co-production and eco-responsibility, to help each project structure its development strategy and effectively prepare its positioning on international markets. "The 2025 Cannes Film Festival confirms that Luxembourg is a key location for European co-production and immersive creation. The Film Fund is proud to support this dynamic alongside its partners and to continue to broaden the horizons of our creators and open up more international opportunities for them," said Guy Daleiden, Director of the Film Fund Luxembourg.
