On Monday 11 November, Guy Daleiden, Director of the Fonds national de soutien à la production audiovisuelle (National Support Fund for Audiovisual Production), presented his results and actions in favour of the film sector for 2018 in the presence of the Prime Minister and Minister for Communications and Media Xavier Bettel and the Chair of the Board of Directors Michèle Bram.

36,200,444 in selective financial aid was granted: €390,000 for writing and/or development aid and €35,810,444 for production aid, including €270,000 for projects. CineWorld.

In addition, the Fund granted aid to Carte Blanche for €322,500, support for authors for €72,500, support for promotion for €253,682, grants for €36,491 and subsidies for €119,018. Music video projects were supported to the tune of €40,803. The incentive measure between the Film Fund Luxembourg and the Canada Media Fund resulted in grants totalling €281,239 (the 2 partners having signed an agreement at the beginning of 2018 aimed at supporting the co-development and co-production of audiovisual projects).

As part of its promotional mission, the Fund has been present at various international markets and forums, and took part in an economic prospecting mission to Latin America.

A partnership between the Franco-German television channel ARTE and the Film Fund Luxembourg has been set up, enabling the two partners to invest together in audiovisual works for broadcast on the channel.

The year 2018 was synonymous with success in terms of box office, selections, nominations and awards: films such as Angelo, Croc-Blanc, Funan, Murer, Tel Aviv on Fire and The Breadwinner - to name but a few. won prestigious international awards, as did the television series Bad Banks broadcast on ZDF, Arte and RTL. In addition to these international successes, two productions were also a big hit: Superjhemp retörns attracting more than 60,000 spectators in Luxembourg and abroad. Gutland winning the supreme award at the Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis.
