Le Sommet des Dieux" crowned best animated film at the 2022 César Awards
The feature film The Summit of the Gods by director Patrick Imbert, co-produced in Luxembourg by Mélusine Productions (Stéphan Roelants), won the César for Best Animated Film at the 47th César Awards on Friday evening.e César awards ceremony in Paris.
The film was adapted from the manga comic book "Summit of the Gods" by Jiro Taniguchi and Baku Yumemakura (inspired by a true story). The cinematographic sense of each shot in this animated work has been thought out and refined to ensure that the 2D animation is produced as smoothly as possible. The result is sober, uncluttered, realistic and in keeping with the artistic tradition of Japanese animation.
Le Summit of the Gods involved the work of 45 people in Luxembourg over more than 18 months of production under the guidance of the Studio 352 team, including Denis Lambert (head of layout), Pascal Gérard (head of animation), Gilles Rudziak (head of animation), Anaëlle Brême (head of ink & paint), David Feraille (studio manager) and Fabien Renelli (production manager).
This co-production between Luxembourg and France had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in 2021 and was released in Luxembourg in September 2021.
