The Locarno Film Festival has unveiled its official selection: Luxembourg is represented with 6 co-productions

La 76e edition of the Locarno Film Festival will be held from 2 to 12 August and has selected 6 Luxembourg co-productions in its official selection:
Do not expect too much from the end of the world by Romanian director Radu Jude (winner of the Golden Bear in 2021 with the Luxembourg co-production Bad Luck Banging and Looney Porn) compete in official international competition. The film is a co-production between Luxembourg (Paul Thiltges Distributions), Romania, Sweden, Croatia and France.
In the section " Fuori Consorso "(an out-of-competition section featuring a selection of recent works by established filmmakers, with a focus on atypical formats such as collective projects and film collections), we find the fantastic feature film Conann by Bertrand Mandico, produced by Les Films Fauves (Luxembourg) with France and Belgium, and the short film We Barbarians from the related VR work of the same name (made by Bertrand Mandico on the ruins of the sets from the filming of Conann in Esch/Schifflange). Conann was selected for the "Quinzaine des Cinéastes" at the Cannes Film Festival last May.
Animated films A Greyhound of a Girl by Enzo d'Alò (Paul Thiltges Distributions) and Nina and the hedgehog's secret (Doghouse Films) will be part of the Locarno Kids Screenings".
Finally, in partnership with the Geneva International Film Festival (GIFF)the work in virtual reality Missing Pictures directed by Clément Deneux and co-produced in Luxembourg by Wild Fang Films, will be presented at Locarno as part of the programme of immersive experiences at the cutting edge of contemporary immersive storytelling.
