Luxembourg co-production Six Days in Spring wins double award at the San Sebastián International Film Festival
The feature film Six Days in Spring (Six jours ce printemps-là)co-produced by Samsa Film (Jani Thiltges), has just won the 73rd San Sebastián International Film Festival by winning two of the festival's main awards: the Silver Coquille for Best Director and the Jury Prize for Best Screenplay.
Directed by the award-winning Belgian filmmaker Joachim LafosseThe film is a French-language co-production between France, Belgium and Luxembourg. This double award follows on from the international success of Luxembourg cinema in recent years, confirming once again its vitality and recognition on the world stage.
Alongside the young Luxembourg actor Jules Waringo in a major rolethe Luxembourg team behind the film The team includes Brigitte Kerger (production manager), Julietta Fernandez (head of set design), Alain Goniva (sound engineer), Virginia Ferreira (head of costume design), Stéphane Thiry (head stagehand), Barbara Prati (set props), Jessica Oliveira (first assistant set designer), Christophe Vincent (stage manager) and Gil Galvao (head of VFX).
Six Days That Spring is an intense family drama, partly inspired by autobiographical memories, set on the Côte d'Azur and exploring the fragile bonds of a family. This is the fourth collaboration between Lafosse and Samsa Film, and the director's fifth film supported by the Film Fund.
International sales of the film are handled by Les Films du Losange.
