Xavier Bettel, Prime Minister and Minister for Communications and the Media, and Guy Daleiden, Director of the Lëtzebuerger Filmfong, unveiled the full programme of the Lëtzebuerger Filmfong on Thursday 28 February. Virtual Reality Pavilionwhich opens its doors on Wednesday 6 March at 6.30 pm at the Casino Luxembourg - Forum d'art comtemporain.

This is the 3e edition dedicated entirely to virtual reality that Filmfong is organising in partnership with Digital Luxembourg as part of the Luxembourg City Film Festival.

Following the success of the first 2 editions, the Pavillon will be returning to the Casino Luxembourg with an even more original and ambitious programme developed for the occasion in close collaboration with the Centre PHI, Montreal's multidisciplinary cultural and artistic hub.

From the launch of the Luxembourg City Film Festival until 17 March, no fewer than 10 VR installations, including 2 Luxembourg co-productions, will be taking over the Casino, giving festival-goers the chance to discover a selection of the most award-winning and ambitious immersive experiences and content on the international scene today.

For some years now, virtual reality has played an increasingly important role in the audiovisual economy, and Filmfong is making an active contribution by regularly supporting innovative content through its grants. As proof of this, two Luxembourg co-productions will be featured in the 2019 pavilion: FAN CLUB by Vincent Ravalec (a_BAHN) and PLAYMOBIL® THE MOVIE - VR ADVENTURES by Olivier Rakoto (Bidibul Productions).

The second edition of the VR DayThis professional day of conferences, debates and discussions on VR will bring together national and international experts to look at the opportunities and challenges facing creators and the virtual reality market today, particularly in relation to narrative writing and communicating works to the public.

Closing the press conference, the Prime Minister said: "By creating synergies between Filmfong's initiatives and those of Digital Luxembourg, the Government is strengthening its support for numerous projects in the field of new technologies, which could ultimately lead to other collaborations between cultural and digital players".
