The Virtual Reality Pavilion returns to Neimënster on 4 March, offering VR to Go at home
Guy Daleiden, director of Film Fund Luxembourg, and Ainhoa Achutegui, director of neimënster, have unveiled the programme for the Virtual Reality Pavilion, which will be at neimënster from 4 to 14 March 2021.
For the 4e This year, the Film Fund is offering the public a pavilion dedicated to virtual reality, which it is organising in collaboration with PHI Montréalspecialising in the production and distribution of immersive works, and with the support of Digital Luxembourg as part of the 11e edition of the Luxembourg City Film Festival.
Because of the health crisis, the 2021 pavilion - like the festival - will take a hybrid form: the public will be able to go to neimënster to discover 2 programmes for a total of 13 films - engaged documentaries, animated tales and audiovisual shows - taking their seats free of charge in a VR cinema completely fitted out according to a strict health protocol.
The organisers are delighted to be able to offer an innovative concept alongside the VR Pavilion: the "VR Pavilion". VR to Go "The new initiative, developed by PHI, is available in Montreal, Paris and Luxembourg. This initiative, developed by PHI, is available in Montreal, Paris and, from 4 March, in Luxembourg, and involves the hire of virtual reality headsets. Audiences in Luxembourg will be able to watch all the films on the Pavilion's programme at home. The headsets will be programmed for ease of use and offered at a reasonable price. They will be cleaned and dried in an ultraviolet disinfection system after each use.
The selection includes some of the most awarded 360° films of the genre, including 3 works co-produced with Luxembourg (Under the Skin by João Inada - Tarantula Luxembourg, Fucking human factor by Karolina Markiewicz and Pascal Piron - Don Pedro Productions and Ayahuasca by Jan Kounen - a_BAHN). The work BattleScar, which last year won the Best Immersive Experience prize at LuxFilmFest, will also be part of the 2021 line-up.
