Guy Daleiden, Director of Film Fund Luxembourg, and Steve Schmit, RTL's Director of Programmes, have announced the launch of a new children's programme on RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg's daily schedule from 5 October. "TIRLITIVI - Planet Kids" features 5 recent animated series produced by Luxembourg production companies and supported by Film Fund Luxembourg.

The international reputation of animation studios and producers in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg has grown steadily in recent years. The many awards and nominations bear witness to the quality and standard of animation produced in Luxembourg. However, while most feature-length animated films 'made in Luxembourg' are also shown in our cinemas, often in the Luxembourg version, the same cannot be said for series. Often co-produced by major foreign channels, these children's series are not initially intended for the Luxembourg market.

To remedy this situation and give young Luxembourg audiences access to these series, RTL, the Fund and the companies Fabrique d'Images, Melusine Productions and Doghouse Films decided in 2014 to create a daily "youth slot" in the RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg programme. At the same time, the decision was taken to synchronise all of these productions in the Luxembourg language. Following a call for tenders launched at the end of 2014, the dubbing of the series, more than 2,200 minutes in total, was entrusted to Linster Studios.

The first season of "TIRLITIVI - Planet Kids" includes the following series: "Solli a Pucki" (Son of Wouf) from Doghouse Films, Déi duerchdriwwen Dräi (The triplets)" and "Déi grouss Rees vum klenge Marco Polo" (The Adventures of young Marco Polo) from Melusine Productions, "De Percy a seng Frënn" (Percy and his friends) and " Polo "from Fabrique d'Images.

"TIRLITIVI - Planet Kids" will be broadcast Monday to Friday from 6.00 pm to 6.30 pm, Saturday from 9.00 am to 11.00 am and from 6.00 pm to 7.00 pm, and Sunday from 9.00 am to 11.00 am and from 6.00 pm to 6.30 pm on RTL Télé Lëtzebuerg.
