The first official selections of the 76e edition of the Cannes Film Festival have just been unveiled, and once again the spotlight is on Luxembourg co-productions.

The documentary "YOUTH (SPRING) by Chinese director Wang Bing, a Les Films Fauves (Gilles Chanial) co-production with France, Hong Kong and the Netherlands, is an integral part of the festival's official competition.

Feature-length fiction film "THE DELINQUENTS (LOS DELINCUENTES) by Argentine filmmaker Rodrigo Moreno, a Les Films Fauves (Gilles Chanial) co-production with Argentina, Chile and Brazil, has been selected in the 'Un certain regard' section.

These 2 films were financially supported by the Film Fund Luxembourg and feature the participation of many talented Luxembourg artists and technicians.

Luxembourg actress Marie Jung will be starring in the film ACID " by Just Philippot selected for the "Séance de minuit".

Other selections are still awaited and will be announced in the coming days!

To promote Luxembourg cinema at the world's largest international film market, the Film Fund Luxembourg will be present at Cannes from 16 to 24 May 2023 with its pavilion in the International Village. It will host around twenty companies and entities under this umbrella, including production companies and companies specialising in post-production, sound and new technologies, as well as the EAVE training programme, the Luxembourg City Film Festival and the Europe Creative - Media support programme.

The traditional Luxembourg Day will take place on Saturday 20 May in the presence of audiovisual and press professionals.
