Wolfwalkers and Collectivetwo Luxembourg co-productions, have been nominated for Oscars and will be vying for statuettes in the following categories: Collective by Alexander Nanau, co-produced by Samsa Film, has been nominated in two categories: Best Documentary Film and Best International Film (representing Romania).

Wolfwalkers by Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart, co-produced by Mélusine Productions, has been nominated in the Best Animated Film category.

La Oscar ceremonyone of the world's best-known and most prestigious film awards ceremonies, attended by millions of cinema-goers every year, will see its 93rd anniversary.e edition to be held at Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on 25 April. It will be broadcast live on ABC in the United States and in over 225 countries around the world.

Collective (Colectiv) - co-production Romania - Luxembourg

Since its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in 2019, where the film was officially selected, and at the Toronto Film Festival the same year, the film has made an impressive journey around the world, winning the Best European Documentary Award at the European Film Awards in 2020.

In Luxembourg, the documentary jury of the Luxembourg City Film Festival awarded it the prize for best film in March 2020, and the film was released in Luxembourg cinemas in autumn.

Samsa Film contributed to this political documentary by providing a team of technicians made up of : Angelo Dos Santos (sound editor), Michel Schillings (sound mixer), Kyan Bayani (music), Raoul Nadalet (colour grading), Liam Mc Evoy (1er assistant picture editor), Claude Kongs and Raoul Nadalet - NAKOfx (special effects), Livia Langers (research assistant), Sven Becker (set photographer).

Synopsis: After a tragic fire at the Colectiv Club, a nightclub in Bucharest, on 30 October 2015, many victims die in hospitals from injuries that should not have been life-threatening. Following the testimony of a doctor, a team of investigative journalists from the Gazette des Sports took action to denounce the massive corruption in the public health system. Following these journalists, the whistle-blowers and the government officials involved, L'Affaire Collective takes an uncompromising look at corruption and the price to be paid for the truth.

Wolfwalkers (The Wolf People) - co-production Ireland - Luxembourg

Since its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2020, Wolfwalkers was acclaimed by the critics and received 18 awards and 39 international nominations, most recently at the Golden Globes.

The Luxembourg company accounted for two thirds of the animation of Wolfwalkers as well as part of the layout and all the film's colour sets. The studio also worked on the 3D modelling, colouring and texturing of the reference models.
Wolfwalkers involved the work of around 60 people in Luxembourg over a production period of more than 15 months. The vast majority of these were members of Studio 352's long-standing team, which over the past 24 years has produced a remarkable number of internationally acclaimed animated films.

This fantasy tale for young and old, set in Ireland in centuries gone by, is currently showing in cinemas in Luxembourg (English and French versions) and is available on the Apple TV+ platform. The Luxembourg version, screened at the Luxembourg City Film Festival last weekend, will be released in cinemas from 24 March.

Synopsis: In Ireland, at a time of superstition and magic, Robyn, a young girl of 11, helps her father hunt the last pack of wolves. But one day, during a hunt in the forest, Robyn meets Mebh, a child by day and a wolf by night. For Robyn, the threat is no longer wolves, but men.
