Vicky Krieps wins Best Actress at the European Film Awards in Reykjavik
The winners of the 35e edition of European Film Awardsthe European equivalent of the Oscars, took place this Saturday evening in Reykjavik and crowned Vicky Krieps European Actress of the Year 2022 for her role in the feature film CORSAGE by Marie Kreutzer, co-produced by Bernard Michaux (Samsa Film).
This new European award comes on top of the numerous prizes won by Vicky Krieps (her interpretation of Empress Sissi won her the Prix "Un Certain Regard for Best Performance at this year's Cannes Film Festival) and the Luxembourg co-production CORSAGE > Corsage - Awards - IMDb
Speaking at the ceremony, Vicky Krieps said she was delighted and honoured to receive this award, which she dedicates to all the women in the world who deserve to be seen and heard.
The Prime Minister and Minister for Communications and Media, Xavier Bettel, congratulated the actress on this major international recognition and said he was very proud of the artistic achievements of our talented actress.
Finally, it should be noted that the Eurimages Co-production Award was awarded to all Ukrainian producers, including Aleksandra Kostina from Oath of Pamfir directed by Dymtro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk and co-produced by Adolf El Assal (Wady Films). The film is a co-production between Ukraine, France, Poland, Chile, Germany and Luxembourg.
