Visit from a Luxembourg delegation to the WHEN EAST MEET WEST co-production market as part of the Trieste Film Festival

A Luxembourg delegation made up of producers (Amour Fou, a_Bahn, Tarantula Luxembourg, Samsa Film, Paul Thiltges Distributions and Calach Films) and representatives of the Lëtzebuerger Film Fong/Creative Europe MEDIA Desk Luxembourg/EAVE attended the co-production market and event for European audiovisual industry professionals from 20 to 22 January. When East Meets West on the fringes of the Trieste Film Festival. Over 450 film professionals - producers, financiers, distributors, broadcasters and decision-makers - from more than 35 different countries are attending.

The Fund's representative, Karin Schockweiler, took part in a panel discussion with other Public Fund representatives from the countries featured at the 2019 edition of WEMW (Benelux and Central and Eastern European countries Slovakia, Poland, Czech Republic and Ukraine) and in individual meetings with the 22 projects selected for the WEMW co-production market.

The Luxembourg delegation also took part in an informal meeting between producers and public funding bodies from the two countries to discuss recent and future developments in the funding systems in Italy and Luxembourg. When East meets West with pitching sessions, panels and round tables, professional exchanges and networking sessions organised as part of the festival.
