The Belarusian author Svetlana Alexievitch has just been awarded the 2015 Nobel Prize for Literature in Stockholm "for her polyphonic work, a memorial to suffering and courage in our time". Her masterpiece, "The Supplication", about the Chernobyl disaster, the 30th anniversary of which will be celebrated in 2016, has been adapted by Luxembourg film-maker Pol Cruchten (Red Lion). Voices from Chernobyl will be released in cinemas in the first half of 2016.

This film is not about Chernobyl, but about the world of Chernobyl, about which we know almost nothing. There are testimonies from scientists, teachers, journalists, couples, children, etc. They talk about their daily lives, and then about the disaster.
Their voices form a long, terrible but necessary plea that transcends borders and makes us question our condition.
