Xavier Bettel will be in Annecy for the International Animation Film Festival, which has selected 5 Luxembourg works for its shortlist.

Xavier Bettel, Prime Minister and Minister for Communications and the Media, will be visiting Annecy on 12 June to meet animation professionals, representatives of the FMAIV (Fédération luxembourgeoise des Métiers de l'Animation et de l'Image Virtuelle) and students and teachers from the BTS Dessin d'animation programme at the Lycée des Arts et Métiers in Luxembourg.
The Marché International du Film d'Animation (MIFA) - which runs from 11 to 14 June as part of the Festival International du Film d'Animation (10 to 15 June) - is the world's leading annual event for professionals and enthusiasts of the moving image in all its forms, with over 12,000 accredited visitors from 88 countries.
The Film Fund will be represented at the 19e time with a promotional stand hosting 15 Luxembourg animation companies (production, studios, service providers).

The film The Swallows of Kabul by Zabou Breitman and Eléa Gobbé-Mevellec (Melusine Productions) is in Official Competition in the Feature Film category.
The documentary Zero Impunity by Nicolas Blies, Stéphane Hueber-Blies and Denis Lambert (a_BAHN/Melusine Productions) is in official competition in the "Contrechamp" category.
The series Fox and Hare by Tom Van Gestel and Mascha Haiberstad (Doghouse Films) is in official competition in the "Television Film" category.
The VR experience Ayahuasca (Kosmik Journey) by Jan Kounen (a_BAHN) is in official competition in the new "VR Work" category.
The feature film Prince's Journey by Jean-François Laguionie and Xavier Picard (Melusine Productions) has been selected as a "Séance Evènement".
Finally, the VR experience Playmobil® The Movie VR Adventures by Olivier Rakoto (Bidibul Productions) will be available to the public throughout the festival in the VR Dome specially installed at the Haras d'Annecy.
New innovative projects will also be on offer to festival-goers in the MIFA's creation room, where headphones will be available for the occasion.
