Pol CRUCHTEN (1963 - † 2019)

	Pol Cruchten was born on the 30th July 1963 in Pétange, Luxembourg. He is an emblematic figure and connoisseur of cinematography, a pioneer of the Luxembourgish cinema who contributed to the development of the film heritage. He studied at the ESC (Ecole supérieure d’études cinématographiques) in Paris. As a producer and director, he is known for Voices from Chernobyl (2016), Boys on the Run (2001) and mainly Hochzaïtsnuecht (1992) which has been selected at the Cannes Film Festival in 1992 in the Un Certain Regard section. In 2005, he directed Perl oder Pica, based on a novel by the Luxembourgish author Jhemp Hoscheit. He died on July 3, 2019 in La Rochelle, Charente-Maritime, France.
