European Animation Awards: 4 nominations for 2 Luxembourgish coproductions
ETHEL & ERNEST directed by Roger Mainwood and coproduced by Melusine Productions (Stéphan Roelants) has been nominated in 3 categories:
– Best Writing in a Feature Film Production
– Best Character Animation in a Feature Film Production
– Best Background & Character Design in a Feature Film Production
ERNEST & CELESTINE, La Collection directed by Jean-Christophe Roger and Julien Chheng, also coproduced by Melusine Productions, has been nominated for:
– Best Background & Character Design in a TV/Broadcast Production
Created in 2015, the "European Animation Awards" reward the animation industry throughout 40 countries in Europe.
The Emile Awards ceremony will be held on December 8th 2017 in Lille city centre (France) at the concert hall Le Nouveau Siècle (The New Century) to ward the skills of European professionals. All EAA members will be granted a right to watch the nominated films and vote in all the categories.
Emile Awards aim to be considered as the highest animation film honor in Europe, similar to the famous Annie Awards in the US, which deeply inspired it. A total of 17 trophies will be awarded to various areas of animated production.
The 2017 Emile Awards ceremony will be followed by the exclusive preview of the much-awaited feature film THE BREADWINNER directed by Nora Twomey, also a Luxembourgish coproduction made with Melusine Productions.
