Director of the Film Fund Luxembourg, Guy Daleiden, is re-elected to the board of directors of the EFAD (European Film Agencies Directors association).

EFAD members met at their virtual General Assembly on September 21 and elected a new Board of Directors. Among the 11 members of the Board of Directors is Guy Daleiden, who served as group vice president between 2014 and 2018 and is now re-elected for a three-year term.

EFAD is the voice of the national institutions of European cinema, bringing together the directors of national cinema and audiovisual production funds of the countries of the European Union, as well as Iceland, Norway, the Republic of North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

The Coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic is having a significant impact on the audiovisual production industry. The group discussed the situation in each country. National funds for cinema and audiovisual production across Europe have been fully mobilized to take all necessary measures to mitigate the negative consequences for all those working in the sector. The funds continue to be committed to support the sector in its recovery: facilitate the filming process (resolve insurance deficits, establish safety guidelines), bring the European audience to go to the now reopened cinemas.

A round table discussion on the transposition of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive concluded the meeting.
