Nicolas BLIES
Nicolas Blies and Stéphane Hueber-Blies (the Blies brothers) are two filmmakers and digital artists who create their work together. In 2015, they conceptualized the documentary music transmedia Soundhunters in co-production with ARTE. The transmedia was released in 2015 in collaboration with many international artists including Jean Michel Jarre, Simonne Jones or Blixa Bargeld. They were invited to present their work at Lincoln Center during the New York Film Festival. The project was placed under the patronage of UNESCO in 2016. In 2019, they wrote and directed Zero Impunity (Thessaloniki IFF, Annecy IFF, Moscow IFF, Mostra de Sao Paulo, Guadalajara IFF, Palm Springs IFF…). The film was nominated for the Trophées Francophones du Cinéma. In 2021, they decided to devote themselves exclusively to a more intimate work about their childhood traumas and the intergenerational traumas that inhabit their family history. They are currently developing an immersive work entitled Ceci est mon coeur in co-production with CENTRE PHI (Montreal) and their first feature film Caravanes.
In 2020, the Blies brothers are members of the feature film jury in the "Contrechamp" section of the 44th Annecy International Animation Film Festival. In 2018, Nicolas Blies is a member of the "National Documentary" section jury and Stéphane Hueber-Blies is a member and president of the "Innovation Award" section at the 31st Biarritz International Audiovisual Production Festival (FIPA).
